Crowsnest Pass Quad Squad gets $800,000 for trail upgrades

A large grant from the Trails Improvement Project, which is a joint Federal and Provincial project, was recently allocated to repair and develop trails used primarily by the Crowsnest Pass Quad Squad.

The grant will see much of the Crowsnest Pass Quad Squad’s trails upgraded. Glen French, of the Quad Squad, says, “this new funding will help to develop and maintain trails for recreation and environmental benefits, and to provide important job creation.” The Quad Squad currently uses 1,800 kilometers of trails, and the $800,000 grant will see 428 kilometers upgraded.

French has also said, “while short term benefits include job and economic opportunities for a variety of workers, the long term intent of this program is the development of safe and sustainable trail infrastructure that can act as major eco-tourism attractions and economic generators for local communities.”
