National Geographic films in Pass

Excerpt: Crowsnest Pass Herald - Nathen Gallagher, Reporter

An exciting National Geographic production has been partially filmed in the Crowsnest Pass - with local expertise and local actors taking part and bringing a Pass flavour to this big production.

The Documentary titled Hitler’s Stealth Fighter, is one of the last untold stories of World War Two, says Michael Jorgenson, the Emmy-winning producer, writer, and director of the project.

Jorgensen worked with Scarecrow Propshow, a local company owned by Dan and Laura Stoddart. The two locals helped round up talent to play American soldiers, scouted locations, and helped locate military vehicles and other items for the production.

“I think it’s going to be a real success,” says Stoddart of the National Geographic production. He adds that it will be good exposure for the area, and that we have good potential as an area people will look to in the future for mountain landscape filming.

The film will be aired in the spring of 2009.
